Tailwind
Community Platform for Bike Riders
The problem
Bike riders often want to go on trips and rides but may not have friends who are available or interested in joining them.
For example, imagine I want to travel to Ratan next month. I may have the plan, but I don't have a group of riders to go with.
I wanted to solve this problem by creating a platform where riders can discover trips and find people with similar interests.
The idea
I designed Tailwind, a community platform for bike riders. The main idea is simple:
Plan a ride → Share it → Find interested riders → Ride together
How it works
A rider can create a trip post with information such as:
- Destination
- Starting location
- Date
- Return date
- Number of days
- Number of riders
- Trip plan
- Description
- Other important details
For example:
Other riders can discover the trip and view the complete details.
Discover and join
If someone is interested in the trip, they can choose to join or connect with the people organizing it.
This makes it easier for riders who don't already have a group of friends to find people who want to go on the same trip.
Community and chat
Tailwind also allows riders to communicate with each other. Users can:
- Chat personally
- Discuss trip plans
- Connect with other riders
- Coordinate before the ride
The core problem I'm solving
The product is not just about finding a destination. It is about solving:
I want to go on a bike trip, but I don't have anyone to go with.
Tailwind turns that individual problem into a community experience.
Vision
My vision for Tailwind is to build a dedicated community for riders where people can discover rides, meet new riders, create groups, and explore new destinations together.
What I learned
Tailwind helped me explore community-driven product design, including user-generated content, discovery, social connections, trip planning, and communication flows.
